Child Safety Standards
Last updated May 25, 2026
Refind is built for adults to refer the workers and pros they actually use to other adults in their network. Children are not the audience for this product, and Refind has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page describes the standards, controls, and reporting channels Refind operates to keep child sexual abuse and exploitation off the platform.
1. Our commitment
Refind prohibits any content, conduct, or use of the service that sexualizes, exploits, endangers, or trafficks children. We design, operate, and moderate the service in line with this commitment and cooperate with law enforcement when we receive valid legal process.
2. Standards against CSAE
The following are strictly prohibited on Refind, in any form, including in profile fields, photos, names, messages to support, job descriptions, invoice notes, or any other text or media that enters our systems:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind.
- Sexualization, grooming, or solicitation of minors.
- Trafficking, sale, or commercial sexual exploitation of minors.
- Content that sexually objectifies or endangers a child, even where the depiction is fictional, animated, generative, or otherwise simulated.
- Encouragement, glorification, or instruction in any of the above.
- Linking or directing users to off-platform locations that contain the above.
Violations result in immediate account termination, preservation of relevant evidence, and a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline where applicable law requires or permits.
3. Age requirements
Refind is restricted to users 18 years of age or older. Our Terms of Service require every account holder to represent that they are at least 18, and accounts found to belong to a minor are terminated. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not market the service to children. If you believe a child has created an account, please report it using the channels below.
4. Prevention and detection
- Account creation. Refind requires a verified phone number plus an explicit age representation in our Terms of Service. We block known low-trust signals at signup.
- Minimal child-facing surface. Refind is a worker-referral marketplace. There is no public profile feed, no DM inbox between strangers, and no discovery of users outside a customer's own contact graph.
- Hashed contacts. Customer phonebooks are hashed on-device before upload, so we never store the underlying phone numbers of a user's contacts.
- Image and content review. Avatars, worker photos, and any free-text content uploaded to Refind are subject to review. We remove accounts and content that violate this policy on detection or report.
- Staff training. Anyone handling Refind support requests is briefed on this policy and on how to escalate suspected CSAE.
5. Reporting child-safety concerns
Refind allows users to report child-safety concerns from inside the app. Open Settings → Report an issue and choose the Child safety category to send a report; it routes directly to our monitored safety team.
You can also reach us directly:
- Email: [email protected] (monitored for child-safety reports)
- General support: [email protected]
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States, suspected child sexual exploitation can be reported to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
6. Our response process
- Reports are reviewed promptly. We preserve relevant content and account information for as long as needed to investigate, respond to law enforcement, and meet our legal obligations.
- Confirmed CSAE results in immediate account termination, content removal, and — where applicable — a report to NCMEC and cooperation with law enforcement.
- We do not retaliate against good-faith reports.
- We review and update this policy and our internal procedures regularly.
7. Legal compliance
Refind complies with applicable U.S. federal and state laws addressing child sexual abuse material and the exploitation of minors, including 18 U.S.C. §§ 2251–2260 and the reporting obligations of 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. We respond to valid legal process in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
8. Point of contact
The point of contact for questions about Refind's CSAM-prevention practices and compliance with this policy is:

We aim to acknowledge contact-of-record inquiries within five business days.
